Saunders first started playing for Swansea Town but later joined Liverpool FC. He has played alongside Aston Villa’s Ian Rush, where he was signed up for a record £2.5million deal. Saunders’ biggest achievement stems from his prolific goal-scoring techniques. His most memorable goals (22 in total) were made in 1986 in Ireland when he was just 21 years old. Saunders is now manager of the football club Wrexham.
John Charles, a legendary Welsh footballer was best remembered as a Leeds United player. Charles was never sent off or booked during his long career. Born in Swansea, he was signed by Leeds United at the age of 17. A few years later, he moved to Juventus and played for Cardiff.
